2017 TSAOHN OMI Achievement Award Recipient Announcement

It is with great pleasure TSAOHN announces, Elizabeth Lacey, MSN, AGPCNP-C, COHC, (Austin AOHN chapter) as the recipient of the 2017 TSAOHN OMI Achievement Award.

Elizabeth has made several important contributions to Occupational Health. She was the Manager of Infection Control at North Hills Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Served as Secretary for the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area Association of Professionals in Infection Control. She was recognized and recommended on two separate occasions for best practices by the Texas Joint Commission surveyors. Won the Texas Christian University Evidence Based Practice Scholarship Program where she completed research on “The Benefits of an Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, which is still in effect at North Hills Hospital today. She was the Employee Health Nurse at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center which was Initially shared with Infection Control, she grew the Employee Health program into a full time position, increased the membership of the Employee Safety Committee from 7 to 32 members, resulting in a culture shift of safety in the workplace. She rewrote the Employee Health Coordinator job summary and successfully transformed the coordinator position into a management position for all St. David’s hospitals. She served as the Secretary of the Austin Texas Association of Occupational Health Nurses. She also completed her masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner graduation from Walden University in 2015 and is Board Certified in Adult -Gerontology.
