Volunteer Opportunities

Ready Texas Nurses is a web-based, emergency response system that’s intended to make sure there’s an effective response from nursing in times of crisis and disaster. Both RNs and LVNs can register. All it takes is your license number, a visit to the Ready Texas Nurses registration area to answer some brief questions about your practice expertise and experience, and a willingness to volunteer your nursing skills in time of crisis or disaster.
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has launched a revised online organ donor registry to make it easier for Texans to register as organ, tissue and eye donors.
n-line registration takes less than 5 minutes. The Glenda Dawson Donate Life – Texas Registry, at www.DonateLifeTexas.org, has information about organ donation and instructions for registering online.
The Baptist Children’s’ Foundation Services assists the public health department with emergency services throughout Texas. They have an urgent need for 2 volunteers: RN, LVN, or Paramedic who would be able to rapidly deploy if called by the state. For more information contact Cynthia Cox.
