The Occupational Health Nurse will play a key role in collaborating with other team members to provide site health and safety needs for the assigned Onsite Employer Clinic. The nurse will support site assessment audits, site risk analysis, and occupational health management plan to support the health services. In addition, she or he will own delivering comprehensive nursing care including prompt medical emergency response, prevention, treatment, and follow-up for occupational injuries/illnesses, referrals, and medications.
Requirements include:
- Associate degree in Nursing from an approved professional Registered Nursing program.
- Case Management experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in occupational health or employee health clinic environment.
- 1-year experience in an adult medicine practice (family medicine or internal medicine)
- Current and valid RN license in the State of Illinois and BCLS
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and participation in OSHA, NIOSH, TDH, or CLIA surveys.
- Familiarity with the principles of quality management and experience in leading Performance Improvement teams.
- Able to use the equipment and related supplies for the selected patient population for the assigned area, including CPR, oxygen administration, and IV therapy.
- NIOSH approved Spirometry, CAOHC approved audiometry and DOT certification within 90 days of hire.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Knowledgeable of State and Federal laws and regulations.
Preferences include:
- BSN
- 1-year experience at an employer onsite clinic in the chemical, oil & gas, or energy industry.
- 1-year experience in an ambulatory care setting
