Provide leadership and direction for the Employee Health & Wellness Centers (EWHC) in the four hospitals; including overseeing the Occupational Injury Benefit Plan (OIBP) and Worker’s Comp. program at MRMC; monitoring and assessing the services provided in the centers; promoting and educating employees on wellness and safety prevention; providing/modeling high quality care to our customers and expanding our customer base and services as the need arises.
Job Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
· Nurse Practitioner preferred
• Masters in related field preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
• Current CPR certification.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing/modeling high quality consistent care to our customers
- Oversee the operations of the Occupational Injury Benefit Plan (OIBP) by Process One. Continuously monitors program for employee assistance; assist management/employees in education of program; reduce waste (human and monies) and increase efficiency and cost containment.
- Oversee the operations of the Worker’s Compensation program at MRMC
- Manage Payroll of EHWC department employees and OIBP employees. Process payroll correctly and on time.
- Monitor and assess the EHWC services provided in the centers. Continuously monitor the services provided and look for ways to improve. Move the EHWC out from behind the locked doors of HR in-order to make the department accessible to the customers served and comply with HIPAA regulations. Listen to customers and STAFFnd provide immediate feedback and take action as appropriate
- Promoting and educating employees on wellness and safety prevention. Offer education programs on wellness and safety; work closely with the new AVP of Wellness; assist the CNOs in developing back safety committees to evaluate new equipment and teaching prevention of back injuries/strains. Offer Ergonomic evaluations to departments.
- Manage as much of the budget that is within the department’s control. Continuously look at ways to be more efficient and cost effective.
- Compliance with OSHA, The Joint Commission, CDC, Texas Workers Compensation (or related) and other regulatory governmental bodies.
- Expanding new customer services and adding new customer base to bring in additional revenue.
- Continue to expand knowledge base, in order to assist staff to grow and to develop and to provide new services/use new techniques as appropriate
- Keep nursing skills current in order to cover the EHWCs as needed and to monitor the charts and work products produced by the staff.
