The Texas State Association of Occupational Health Nurses
(TSAOHN) consists of registered nurses who provide on-the-job health care for workers in the state of Texas. This group of professionals work together with the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN) to promote and advance the field of occupational health nursing.  TSAOHN was established in 1953 and has grown to a membership of over 500 professional
nurses.

Classification of Membership:

  • Active: Open to registered professional nurses who are currently employed in occupational and environmental health.

  • Affiliate: Open to either: registered professional nurses not eligible for active status, but interested in the field of occupational and environmental health and the purposes of AAOHN; or others, not eligible for active status, but practicing in the field of occupational and environmental health and interested in the purposes of AAOHN.

  • Student: Open to either: registered nurses enrolled as students in a program of study related to occupational and environmental health; or students in professional nursing programs with interest in occupational and environmental health.

  • Retired: Open to members retired from occupational and environmental health


The Texas Association of Occupational Health Nurses is comprised of five Chapters and the State Organization each with its own officers, bylaws and dues.  The Chapters are:
