Austin Chapter President’s Message Sept 10, 2008
Great kick off dinner meeting last night to begin our 2008-2009 season at
the Dell Children's Hospital. Thanks to all who helped make signs and
direct us to the auditorium. Next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct 14 at Seton
Hospital, McFadden Auditorium with the American Cancer Society presenting
an update on Breast Cancer.
We had a full room for a fajita dinner provided by Ashley Ales with
updates on Novartis Flu vaccine. Our speakers from Austin City were
introduced by Marcia Fowler, nurse hostess for the evening. They updated
us on all issues surrounding the flu vaccine and pandemic planning.
Additional information on available clinics for flu vaccine administration
through the City of Austin will be forwarded to all in the near future.
Some highlights from the meeting especially for those who were not able to
attend:
1. TSAOHN Fall Conference November 3-8/2008, early registration due before
9/15/2008, Information available at

Occupational Health Nurses
2. Holiday Party Cheez Zee Monday December 8, Put on your calendar now,
Bitsy and crew are again busy planning for a fun evening.
3. Upcoming elections through the TSAOHN WEB Site: Lynn Pyle is actively
recruiting for board members for the upcoming two years. We have
President, Treasurer, and 2 board positions to fill. If you are interested
or know of anyone interested please contact Lynn. Also, we will be voting
on updates to our By Laws.
4. Fall Awards: Several awards are available to be awarded at our Holiday
Party in December. A sheet indicating which awards are available to apply
for was distributed. Contact Setta Smith for further information.
